You want to work as a security guard or private investigator so you've completed your Alberta Basic Security Training or Alberta Investigator Training course, and you've booked your government final exam. But now you're not sure what to do to prepare to pass your exam.
Here are all of our best tips, tools and suggestions for you to thoroughly prepare for your exam. The more prepared you are, the more confident you'll feel, and the more likely it is that you will pass!
We recommend doing ALL of the following ways to prepare for your exam:
Study your manual and notes from the course.
Ask your instructors questions if you don't fully understand a concept. If you took your course online with Tip of Spear, use the Ask Instructor button when logged into your course.
Complete all of the online practice exams. These are included with the Tip of Spear ABST Online Plus or Classroom students. ABST Online Basic students, can upgrade to ABST Online Plus to get access to the practice exams and review.
Attend/watch the instructor-led pre-exam review. These are included with the Tip of Spear ABST Online Plus or Classroom students. ABST Online Basic students, can upgrade to ABST Online Plus to get access to the practice exams and review. If you are writing your exam in-person at Tip of Spear, attend the review in-person from 9-11am the morning of your exam. If you are writing your exam online, watch the review online 1-2 days before your exam so you have time to go back over your notes or ask us if you have questions.
